The Story
Customers familiar with the DAMGOOD brand noticed a specially designed light mount prototype appeared in our early ouch-1 folding hinge video. At the 2024 CMWC in Zurich, I used it to complete all the races, and many courier friends were very excited about its performance. However, as I always felt it wasn’t good enough, repeatedly stating that it hadn’t finished testing and was not ready to be launched on the market.

The turning point happened two months ago. After a whole year of testing (which shows my laziness), the prototype finally broke due to a collision, and I began to work on improving the design.

Design
Welcome to OVEG-2! A fully improved design with higher strength, also more suitable for self-printing. By the way, OVEG is an abbreviation of ”Over Engineering”, inspired by friends in Zurich who were greatly amazed by it. I really like this description and decided to name it that way. The "2" represents the second generation, honoring the prototype that has passed away. Salute!
The entire print takes about 3 hours (depending on your printer and settings; I personally use the Bambu H2D).
The best material is ASA. Prototype was made of ABS, which after a year of use did become hard and brittle. Since this device is intended for outdoor use, ASA with better UV protection is the optimal choice.
Mean time, I found that although PETG has slightly lower strength, it offers more color options and also performs well outdoors. Therefore, the .3mf configuration file defaults to using PETG.

Additional items needed:
- 605 bearing x1 (5*14*5mm,press-fitted into the Hanger part, ceramic type recommended to avoid rust)
- M5*20 hex socket flat head bolt x1 (connects Main Tube Clamp/Hanger parts, only flat head works)
- M5*25 hex socket bolts x3 (connects other parts)
- M5 nylon lock nuts x4

- Your preferred bike light, with GoPro mount(recommended: Magicshine EVO1700 / CBL1600)
If you still want DAMGOOD to print it...
hmmm... To be honest, we are not a professional 3D printing company—printing it yourself is always the best option. However, if you insist on having us make it, we can only offer a very limited selection of materials and colors, and the shipping cost you pay may be much higher than the product itself.
